2+ Weekend house is a modern small house unit at Trebnie, Slovenia. Designed by Jure Kotnik Arhitekt, the house born because of high prices for real estate. It’s the system of two containers manufactures specially for housing. ConHouse pushes the development of containers manufactured especially for housing and office purposes. Before ConHouse small container houses projects was mostly made with usual cargo containers.
The 2+ is a two-level mini housing unit composed of two containers perpendicular to each other. It shows that a minimal number of containers combined in an innovative fashion offers fresh yet functional architectural solutions. Thanks to colors and minimalistic look the design of the house looks quite modern. The upper container provides a projecting roof above the entrance as well as serves to shelter the back terrace. The ceiling of the bottom container is also a terrace of the first floor.

Building house on a small area in modern style isn’t as easy task as it could be. One more project by K2Ld Architects shows how to do that. It has everything modern house need: pool, open spaces around the house, 4 sides views from different rooms, a lot of big windows and transparency, marble floors, modern colored walls and so on. Although like other K2Ld houses it’s form differs from usual ones. It uses linear elements like others but they are accompanied by non-traditional elements. That all adds overall impression of uniqueness and diversity.

Modern House Design On Small Site Witin A Tight Budget – Crockett Residence
Pb Elemental Architecture is the company which designed this beautiful modern house with many limitations. First of all the budget was very tight but the clients family was large and still growing. The site is only 1600 square foot although the Elemental Architecture managed to fit everything needed on it. The house includes four bedrooms, two baths, an open kitchen, dining and living areas, an entry corridor, a utilities area, a large storage room and an accessory dwelling unit with a full kitchen, bath, laundry and closet. In the end the building footprint is only 790 square feet with building cost of $167/sf and beautiful modern interior design. [Pb Elemental Architecture]

This small yet cosy house is situated by the coast of the north of Zealand, Denmark. It is one of the two houses on the one site which share a common garden and some other spaces. The house’s area is only 75 square meters but with a up-to-date oak-clad and smart design it is the great place for contemporary family. During its latest redesign “sky-boxes” were added to provide space and air so it usually filled with natural light. The large glazed openings and double-height ceiling at some parts of the roof also help with that. Large sliding doors lets the in- and outside melt together. This house is nested into a nine-acre site on a river. It’s relatively small – only 600 square foot, but quite environmental friendly. It is build in a harmony with natural surroundings as less impact to the environment as possible. Comfortable, functional and aesthetically pleasing the house consist of two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room and kitchen. The main materials used in construction are a reclaimed wood and concrete. Many combinations of windows and transparent doors open interiors to the outside to enhance the connection with nature.
