Home with Cool Courtyard – Casa en Huentelauquen by Izquerdo Lehmann
This vacation home is built in rural farm in the town of Huentelauquén. It’s facing the sea at the edge of a windswept plateau, located 40 meters above the beach. The living and dining room is open on both sides along its entire length, with a pair of running windows. It captures as beautiful ocean views as views of plants in the courtyard. Placed on 350 square meter area the house has four bedrooms for children and guests besides the master bedroom. Courtyard is the centerpiece of the house with its own nature inside. It is connected to all house’s rooms and patio below the house’s level covering the full sea view from the horizon to the beach. [Izquerdo Lehmann Arquitectos]

Contemporary Wooden House on the Hill with Outstanding Staircase
Villa Holmenkollen is builded on the hill near the Oslo, Norway. The house has total area of 370 square meters including garage and is designed by Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter. It has quite simple rectangular shape and made of wooden panels and large floor-to-ceiling windows. Such shapes and materials make the house design contemporary and in the same time natural. The views through that windows are amazing. Forests, hills, lakes, everything could be seen while seating in the house’s warmness. All levels are connected by a three-story steel staircase that enhances the feeling of inhabiting the sky. Even though the house is situated at the outskirts of Oslo, the nature around make it worth to drive to work from there every day. [Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter]

House on the Hill Linked to the Landscape – Krater House
The house is situated on the top of a hill on Antiparos, in the Cycladic islands, Greece. There was a lot of challenges in designing it related to its position. First of all there was a need to protect living areas from strong winds of the Aegean Sea and to hide them from the settlement at the foot of the hill. That’s why part of the house was dug into the landscape. In the result, the house is not only protected from wind but only its second store is visible from the village. Stone surfaces defines borders of the Krater house. A 25 meter long lap pool is located at the Krater’s west part which also features amazing sea views. The kitchen’s windows frame views of the pool and its infinity-edge. A courtyard is also protected from winds and is separated from living area only with large glass sliding doors that blur the boundaries between it and the interior space. [Deca architecture]
