This villa has ornamental facades from both, the front and the lake side. The white concrete elements are dotted with circular openings that allow to see two-leveled orangery and lounge and access the staircase from the ground floor. The lake side face two mountains so the lounge has spectacular views. The loggia made of round glass bricks which looks decorative in contrast with rough elements of side facades. The basement has large fitness area with 25 meters pool half inside, half outside. The garage can accommodate not just owners cars but also cars belongs to their guests. Los Amates House lies in a tourist resort in Morelos, 60 kilometers South of Mexico City. This single family house is designed by Jorge Hernandez de la Garza (JHG) in contemporary style inside and outside. Its light, milky, concrete frame looks like urban dot in gorgeous vegetation. In the first level, light vertical reinforcements and a glass curtain give a free space to the dining room-parlor area. A detailed wooden lattice makes it possible to communicate the guest’s bedroom with all the other services of the house and it gives warmness and texture to the project. The second floor holds the private space of the house. The double height in the parlor and a light folding glass integrate the house to the context and make it possible that the outer and inner spaces become one. The swimming pool also makes possible to merge the atmosphere of the house with its natural surroundings. [JHG]

This limestone, steel, aluminum and glass house built on the exact same footprint as one-story wood house that was here before. The house is now have two stories and the main entrance has double staircase to the second floor. The living room, dining room, kitchen, utility room, library, and two guest bedrooms with baths are on the first floor. The second floor has the master bedroom / sitting room with two dressing rooms, two vanity areas and a large bathroom with separate tub and shower. All rooms are open to walkways and terraces at both the first and second floors. The studio and garage are attached to the main house with a glass walled and roofed corridor. The swimming pool is located near the house with its own view of the surroundings. The house is designed by Bates Masi Architects.
