Using natural materials in modern building isn’t the most popular style nowadays. Although Syntax Architecture build family house in a village near Vienna using such materials. Untreated timber has been used for walls and ceilings, but also for windows and cladding. Recycled paper serves as insulation material. This family home with a writer’s studio and a wine cellar has been planned on one of the steep slopes of a south-facing hillside. Great views, surrounding vineyards, natural materials like stone and wood make this house a very desirable place to live for small family who doesn’t like fast life in the city.

Fro a basic form this house in Utrecht, Netherlands is something that stands out in the countryside landscape. Designed by Amsterdam architect Rocha Tombal, House Bierings has timber-clad and differently shaped windows at various angles on all sides. The house is unusual not only outside. At the ground floor it has the angled ceiling with different shaped openings that provide natural light to interior. The kitchen is the heart of this home. It has big glass wall straight into the garden. The living room at the same time is a quiet, north-lighted attic space, from which a big opening exposes the surrounding green like in a framed painting. Modern Wood House Design – M + M2 House
Designed by Klaus Matuschka this modern wood house is located near Los Angeles. It is surrounded by a lot of trees like oaks and cinnamon. Thanks to that the house is hidden on a small site among them even though it’s located on the highest position. The ground floor is made of reinforced concrete and steel while the second floor mostly done in timber. The first floor consist of public areas while bedrooms and other private space on the second one. There are several terraces around the house and one of them developed especially for barbecue. This home is a perfect modern dot in the middle of a beautiful nature.
